Can You Get a Breast Lift and Breast Augmentation at the Same Time?

There are many things in life that can affect a woman’s breasts and their appearance. Aging, weight gain and loss, sun damage, and pregnancy are most visible in a woman’s breasts.

Aging causes the volume to decrease, leading to a softer, less firm breast. Pregnancy and sun damage reduces the elasticity of the skin, so it stretches and can lead to saggy, droopy breasts. This causes the breasts to hang lower on the chest.

Ultimately you have no control over these problems, and while the rest of your body can be toned and well-contoured, your breasts will start to show your true age.

Help for Aged Breasts? Breast Augmentation AND a Breast Lift!

Breast augmentation will improve the shape and size of the breasts and it does add volume, but does nothing for the lax skin. A breast lift, on the other hand, will lift the breast position, but do nothing to restore breast volume. But what about women who have a combination of problems associated with lost volume and lax skin?

The answer is a simultaneous breast lift and augmentation. Let’s break down each aspect of breast surgery for breast enhancement to see how this innovative surgery improves the breasts.

Breast Lift Procedure

Women might be more comfortable with losing breast volume if it happened to the entire area of the breast, but this is rarely the case. Most women lose breast volume in the upper part of the breast. When this effect is combined with stretching skin, the weight shift of breast volume creates a pendulum appearance to the breasts. A breast lift removes the excess skin so that the breast mound sits in a more appropriate position on the chest.

Breast Augmentation Procedure

Breast augmentation is designed to add fullness to the breast in a way that changes the size and shape of the breast mound. Women can choose breast implants for rounder breasts or teardrop shapes for a more natural appearance. In both cases, adding breast volume adds weight to the breasts, and the skin must be strong enough to hold the breasts in place.

Do I Need To Get Breast Lift and Augmentation at the same time?

Starting with the idea of losing breast volume in the upper portion of the breast, performing a breast lift alone will lift the breasts to a better position. The aesthetic challenge is that the area above the areola will be disproportionately flat.

On the other hand, performing a breast augmentation procedure alone on a woman who has poor skin elasticity will only place more weight on the already stretched skin, and the breasts will not be pleasing to the eye.

A simultaneous breast lift and augmentation corrects problems with the breast volume and loose skin, and the procedures are performed during the same surgery.
