Dysport® near Philadelphia, PA
Centrally located in Southampton and serving Philadelphia, Bucks, and Montgomery Counties, the Kole Plastic Surgery Center performs Dysport® treatment for patients desiring skin rejuvenation.
What Is Dysport®?
Dysport® is an FDA-approved alternative to Botox® that temporarily improves moderate to severe lines and wrinkles between the eyebrows and the forehead. The targeted area may be numbed before the procedure for patient comfort, but it is usually not necessary. As with Botox®, the procedure is very quick and the patient can return to normal activities immediately following the treatment. Results of a Dysport® treatment may be noticeable as soon as one to two days after treatment – usually faster than Botox®. Dysport® may last up to six months and is one of the most popular non-invasive cosmetic procedures performed.
How Does Dysport® Work?
Dysport® blocks signals from the nerves, allowing muscles to relax and smoothing the wrinkles that they cause. Habitual muscle contractions are blocked, but after a short time the nerve extends new branches to the muscle that allow for voluntary muscle contraction, so you don’t lose expressiveness in treated areas. Many facial wrinkles are the result of nerve cells that have been conditioned to tell muscles to contract. Because we so often contract muscles in the forehead, around the eyes, and around the mouth, the nerves begin telling the muscles to remain contracted.
The key to successful Dysport® treatment is precise injection into the muscles needing treatment, which is dependent on the skill of the injector. Physicians were initially reluctant to use Dysport® around the mouth where injections would be needed very close to muscles needed for talking, eating and kissing. This technique, however, has now been perfected to a higher skill level. Tiny Dysport® injections into certain oral muscles can safely prevent the mouth from creasing the skin and forming the deep vertical lines caused by habitual over-pursing. Dr. Kole is very experienced at this procedure and has had excellent results using advanced injection techniques.
Who Benefits from Dysport®?
The popularity of Dysport® is due to the ease of use and superior effectiveness in treating common types of wrinkles. If you have brow wrinkles, crow’s feet, or lines around the lips or on the neck, then these injections can reduce those wrinkles. With a series of quick injections, dramatic reductions in these wrinkles can be achieved.
What Is the Recovery Time for Dysport®?
After Dysport® injections, patients can return to their daily activities immediately. No incisions, sutures, or bandages are involved with these injections. Most patients don’t take more than an hour or two away from work or school.
What Is the Cost of Dysport® in Philadelphia and Bucks County?
