Different Types of Breast Lift Surgery

Mastopexy, the medical term for breast lift surgery, is a cosmetic breast rejuvenation that can expertly secure the loose skin of the breasts, place them at a higher location and lessen the deflating and hanging appearance.  Some women may require a full breast lift surgery to undertake serious drooping and extra skin in the breasts, while others who are tolerating less indicative sagging may need more understated techniques.  Kole Plastic Surgery performs several types of breast lift procedures that can be customized for each patient base on your specific needs and desired goals.

Full Mastopexy

You may know this as the Anchor Mastopexy or the Inverted T-incision breast lift.  This is the most conventional type of breast lift procedure and is usually for women who have standard drooping and enlarged breasts.  Normally the incisions are placed around the darker area surrounding the nipple and down to the crease of the breast, also in line with the fold in the breast.  Extra tissue and skin are excised and the breast tissue is repositioned for a much more youthful look.  The full breast lift procedure can be very favorable and usually culminates in impressive enhancement.

Crescent Mastopexy

Otherwise known as Half-Moon Incision breast lift surgery, the Crescent Mastopexy is used for women who have mild sagging.  It is the least invasive out of all the techniques.  Patients who benefit from this are those who have extra skin on the top part of their breast, yet not on the lower part.  The incision made is in the shape of a half-moon and is placed on the top part of the areola.  Excess tissue and skin are also removed and then the breast is sutured, actually appearing lifted.

Doughnut Mastopexy

Known medically as Peri-Areolar Mastopexy, this breast lift technique demands incisions surrounding the areola.  Extra skin is removed and nipples are placed to a more upright position.  In the end, the breasts are lifted and the extra skin is excised.  Patients with large amounts of sagging are not ideal candidates for this type of breast lift.  This is most ideal for those with nipples that are unevenly positioned and breasts that appear crooked and uneven.

Lollipop Mastopexy

Another breast lift type, this is typically used for women experiencing a moderate amount of sagging with medium sized breasts.  Entrance is created around the areola and an additional one down the middle of the breast.  The shape of the incision actually looks like a lollipop.  Extra skin is excised and the skin that remains is lifted up and flattened out.  Some call this breast procedure the vertical breast lift.  It is often perfect for candidates that fit right in the middle of the full lift and the least invasive lift.  This technique tends to be a lot more subtle for women who have larger breasts with only mild drooping and sagging.

There are a variety of breast lift techniques available to help enhance with your chest appearance, self-esteem, as well as restore your youthful figure.  The outcome of your cosmetic surgery will last a long time and results are almost instantly visible.  Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Kole Plastic Surgery and his staff welcome the occasion to assist you with your breast lift objectives.
