Avoid a Drastic Nose Job Needing Revision Rhinoplasty in Bucks County

There is no way that you haven’t picked up a magazine or watched a star studded event and noticed immediately the amount of cosmetic surgery that celebrities have undergone, just on their faces.  One unflattering procedure that can’t be hidden is when, whether it is a celebrity, a neighbor or even a colleague, has had a drastic nose job.  Drastic in the sense that a nose looks completely overdone.  A nose job where too much work was done during surgery and it looks absolutely awful now.  In my practice, I have patients that I work on for all different procedures, to fix what turned out to be an unattractive result from a nose job the first time.  That is what plastic surgeons call revision surgery.  If it is necessary, revision rhinoplasty is an available surgery.  You won’t be able to get back the “old” nose you went in with and I won’t be able to start from scratch but I will always do my very best to revise the less than flattering attributes you have been left with after your original nose job surgery.

Most women that come to me to discuss rhinoplasty don’t want to alter their appearance drastically.  Believe it or not, they want to fix bumps, smooth the hooks at the end, shorten the length and many wish to breathe better.  Aesthetically, they wish to look like themselves and have their noses altered to look natural and in proportion to their other facial features.  A nose that is turned into a tiny, pinched nose is the result of the removal of too much cartilage.  Ironically, when this occurs, it makes it harder for a person to breathe.  In cases where a patient’s nose was surgically altered into a shape that is too small and pinched, where too much was removed from inside of the nasal cavity, revision surgery involves borrowing cartilage from other areas of the inner nasal cavity or septum to build up the remaining weak cartilage. In drastic cases when there is no cartilage to use in the nose, ear or even rib cartilage can be used. I can’t stress enough the importance and urgency of using a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who has expertise in revisionary cosmetic surgery.

As with all potential patients, you should schedule a complimentary consultation.  Here is the time to view a large amount of pictures, which I consider “samples”.  Look at before and after pictures and ask questions.  I implore that questions be asked and I stress that the pictures of noses from other nose jobs and revision rhinoplasty surgeries do not look the same.  Each one looks different from the next.  This is because every each patient starts out with a different nose, so, why would or should every patient have the same nose after surgery?  That is a red flag.  Each of my patients in all of my photographs has their own individual nose unique to their faces.

Patients need to discuss what they think will better enhance their face and what they believe the idea of beauty means, along with their inner wishes.  Whether it is a bump in the center, a wide tip, large nostrils, a broken nose and many reasons for a nose job, our goal together is to have one surgery.  Revision Rhinoplasty is often avoidable and my Rhinoplasty patients know that I avoid drastic nose jobs needing Revision Rhinoplasty whenever possible.  Sit down with me and see the difference what an experienced, caring and safe Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon can do for you.
