What is the difference between a full tummy tuck and liposuction?

Liposuction (whichever method is used: ultrasound, traditional, power assisted, laser) removes fat from below the skin surface and provides a small amount of skin tightening due to scar contracture under the skin as the skin heals. A full tummy tuck removes excess skin of the abdominal wall usually from the belly button down to the pubic area, tightens the underlying muscles from the breast bome to the pubic bone and removes excess skin. A tummy tuck also removes some fat from the abdomen through liposuction and direct excision of the fat under the skin surface.
