Bucks County PA Plastic Surgeon Outlines Patient Expectations for Breast Lift

Board Certified plastic surgeon Kole Plastic Surgery revealed that around 25% to 30% of  women breast augmentation patients will also require a breast lift (mastopexy) to achieve their desired aesthetic goals. Similarly, Dr. Kole explains that patients requesting a breast lift procedure often may be satisfied with a breast augmentation in addition to the lift to add extra volume to their final breast size.  Depending on their goals and enhancement needs, Dr. Kole examines each patient and recommends options that can provide the desired results with both minimizing scar length, recovery time and complications.

Beginning with the initial breast lift consultation, Dr. Kole listens to the patient’s goals and desires, which he believes is the most important part of the interview process. Thereafter he conducts a thorough breast and chest wall examination, where he and the patient discuss options for achieving the patient’s desired results.  After all of these processes, Dr. Kole can determine whether the patient is a candidate for one of his three surgery techniques:

breast lift

Circular (concentric periareolar breast lift) is for very small lifts with an implant to help fill up excess volume.

Vertical (lollipop breast lift) is for intermediate lifts, lifting the breast two to four centimeters with an implant to fill up extra volume.

Inverted T-Shaped (anchor-shaped breast lift) is for lifts greater than four centimeters with or without an implant. This lift is used for patients with significant laxity.

Dr. Kole selects the best technique based on the total elevation of the nipple and areola complex that is required to lift the breast into the proper youthful shape. He explains the purpose of the circular lift is to improve the overall symmetry and breast shape in patients requiring minimal elevation of the breast. The vertical technique helps with both shaping and upper pole breast fullness and is usually used with an implant to augment final breast volume. The inverted T-shaped anchor style lift can be used with a breast implant for extra upper pole breast fullness or without a breast implant by shaping the patient’s own native breast tissue to enhance the appearance of the final shape of the breast.

However, since every patient anatomy and desires are different, Dr. Kole urges potential patients to schedule a complimentary consultation to learn about their options by calling our office at 215-315-7655 .
