Male Patients Undergo Plastic Surgery Procedures In Philadelphia

Kole Plastic Surgery, has been seeing a larger amount of male patients for quite a few years. It is nothing new or out of the ordinary. At one time his male patients felt more uncomfortable and asked for extra privacy coming in on the day of surgery and leaving after finishing in the recovery room. As a suburban Philadelphia area board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Kole performs a large amount of different procedures. He continues to see his male patient base grow not only in numbers but also in the variety of surgeries and enhancements that men wish to address. While it is true that the Baby Boomers are loud and proud, which is wonderful, plastic surgery is no longer frowned upon. It is culturally accepted and pretty much a part of the norm for many in our society.

Most common for male patients 49 and under, I find that liposuction seems to be the most popular surgical request and procedure I perform at my Licensed Ambulatory Surgical Center. Male patients that are 50 and older tend to come in for liposuction, as well, yet, Blepharoplasty, the medical term for eyelid surgery and different surgeries that are in conjunction with a facelift and neck lift tend to be most popular within this group of men.

I hear the following common answers when discussing what and why my male patients have a strong desire to undergo cosmetic surgery in order to alter or make their body areas better in an aesthetically pleasing nature:

  • I keep a very healthy lifestyle with my diet and exercise daily and still have my stomach fat and

“love handles”.They bother me enough to want to get rid of them.

  • I am sick of always looking tired when I’m not and people in my life tell me I look that way.
  • I am very active and I don’t see that when I look at myself because of how my face is aging.

All procedures I perform, at The Kole Plastic Surgery Center Center, are meticulously planned and custom fit to bring out the desired looks of my male patients while I work at not altering any natural features. The way to produce the “un-done” aesthetics for men, is by carefully placing as many incisions, as possible, in concealed places. Even with complex work, after safety and comfort taking priority, I always let my male patients know that I, too, believe after their healing occurs, they should look natural and like themselves rather than “fake” or “plastic” looking.

In reference to the surgeries that are in high demand by the majority of my male patients within those two age-based groups, I also think that due to the post-operative period of resting, healing and full recovery usually being quite minimal, adds to the continued attractiveness. There will always be some degree of bruising and swelling. Pain differs for each patient and with the three most popular procedures, it is usually a maximum of ten days that the men will have to be home from work. Regardless of the surgery, I strongly urge the importance of undergoing all procedures by a plastic and cosmetic surgeon who is board-certified and with a collective amount of experience in practice.
