Women Reverse the Signs of Aging with Facelifts near Philadelphia

Faces communicate quite a lot about us; expression, emotion and personality. As time passes, lines and wrinkles develop. Facial features and skin start to display effects of sun exposure, gravity, stress, and environmental hazards. Fatty deposits tend to accumulate around the jowls and eyes as skin loosens and sags. Your levels of friendliness and creativity could be hidden or mistaken by an overall unhappy, unrested and uninterested look. The facelift procedure is highly recommended to reverse the signs of aging, exposing a younger, more natural you after restoring some of your individual younger facial features.

The female facelift involves different surgical techniques. Always the layers of the lower face are repositioned with tightening of the skin, as this restores your facial definition and shape. Manipulating the deeper facial structures, releasing tissue and lifting the muscles help attain the expressive look. Often a facelift combines a Neck Lift at the same time. Doing this keeps the lower face and neck appearing as one aesthetic unit. Some surgeons perform a facelift that only tightens skin. This technique is not recommended due to how quickly results decrease with time and distortion of facial features with stretching of the skin with swelling and gravity. Dr. Edward Kole is always concerned with patient safety, comfort, satisfaction and long term natural results.

What Female Facelifts Are Not Meant To Do

Facelifts are not meant to improve skin texture or smooth out all wrinkles. Pulling and stretching out facial skin to remove lines changes features by flattening them. Rather, this procedure is meant to tighten up underlying facial tissues so that structures can be restored. Facelifts do involve some tightening and removal of skin with the intent being a natural and unnoticeable refreshed younger appearing look.

Facelifts are not meant to treat and correct all areas of the face. The nose has a procedure known as a Rhinoplasty, and the eyelids have a procedure called a blepharoplasty to correct these areas. During facelift surgery, it is not uncommon for women to have Brow Lifts or Cheek Lifts and sometimes both procedures with additional aesthetic work to reinforce the aesthetic results of the facelift. Your facial structure that tends to benefit most is the lower area of your face, which includes the corner of your mouth, through the neck area.

Many patients fear the worst case scenario with scarring, as well as, having an ‘over done’ looking face and specific risks involved with surgery. There are newer techniques that continue to help hide and limit scars and help surgeons provide patients with the most natural looking results possible. Undergoing any surgery does bring risks of reactions to anesthesia, bleeding and infection. Following all post-surgical instructions will always help lower possibilities of complications.
